Responsibilities
Under general direction of the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance Services is responsible for the overall quality and comprehensive nature of the Compliance Program for the CSUN Department of Athletics.
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating, implementing, facilitating, overseeing and evaluating all facets of the Athletics Compliance Program, including educational monitoring and investigating components as well as other areas within the program that strengthen and enhance the athletic compliance effort as a whole; coordinates, develops, and implements a proactive and dynamic rules education program for all pertinent individuals and groups; acts as a liaison with Academic Services; completes data collection for submission of reports; interprets and applies NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations for all areas as necessary; acts as the compliance liaison with the NCAA and conference offices; organizes, supervises and monitors all activities associated with the area of recruiting, including the development and revision of the necessary forms, the declaration of recruiting periods, and the certification of events; coordinates the camps, clinics and summer leagues compliance program for the department including the development of forms and procedures, handling the annual camp education meeting, and monitoring all camp and/or clinic activities, reports and forms; supervises coaches' certification programs; tracks and verifies the awarding and reporting of outside aid; coordinates student-athlete employment; oversees the area of personnel relative to NCAA compliance; oversees the application of NCAA rules to any promotional activities or community service; coordinates the self-report process, including investigating, developing reports, and identifying appropriate sanctions for any institutional violations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a job-related field. Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent to two years of progressively responsible experience in athletics compliance.
