The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of Associate Director of Social Media. This is a, full-time contract position with a targeted salary range of $50,000 - $55,000/year with full health benefits and membership in the UC Retirement Plan. Under the general supervision of the Sr. Associate Athletic Director of Communications, the Associate Director of Social Media will oversee strategy and create content for various UCLA Athletics accounts across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other potential emerging social channels. The person in this role will work collaboratively and proactively with key stakeholders to develop and implement a strategic social calendar across 25 sport programs in an effort to increase and enhance visibility, student-athlete recruitment, fan engagement, brand awareness and revenue generation.

All applicants should demonstrate the following abilities and requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, graphic design or related field and minimum three years of experience in social media management as well as sports marketing, promotion and/or web development - or – six years of experience in social media management as well as sports marketing, promotion and/or web development; Demonstrated mastery of social media strategy and best practices on platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; Demonstrated experience developing and executing a compelling and effective social media strategy across multiple platforms; Demonstrated firsthand experience creating content via graphic design and/or photography skills; Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities; Very strong verbal and written communication skills, including copywriting and editing knowledge; Strong technical background with advanced computer skills; Ability to work independently and as a member of a team; Aptitude to develop and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders; Ability to work extended hours including weekends and holidays, with the potential to travel regularly; Ability to follow NCAA, Pac-12, University, and Departmental rules and regulations.
Preferred qualifications include:
Experience establishing and/or growing a social media brand voice and presence, especially in sports; Experience effectively managing and helping develop a direct report, including hourly employees; Experience delivering on deadlines within a budget; Experience with online monitoring and measurement platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook Insights, Twitter Insights, Google Analytics, HootSuite, TweetDeck and Social Mention; Knowledge of digital multimedia editing systems such as Adobe Creative Cloud; Willingness to learn and ability to flourish in a dynamic environment; Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and hands-on approach; A reliable and flexible team player with a friendly and professional attitude.
