Primary Responsibilities
• Assist with creating a comprehensive compliance rules education program
• Provide rules interpretations for coaches, departmental staff, student-athletes, prospective student-athletes, University personnel, alumni, and boosters
• Research and prepare NCAA and Ohio Valley Conference waiver requests
• Monitor individual and team athletics financial aid limits and process all athletics scholarship requests
• Prepare National Letter of Intent paperwork
• Maintain CAi database, including squad lists and financial aid information
• Maintain Eligibility Center’s Institutional Requests Lists
• Monitor recruiting activity for all coaches, including telephone logs and contacts/evaluations
• Serve as a liaison between coaches and Admissions, Student Financial Services, and Residence Life offices
• Perform initial eligibility assessments for prospective student-athletes
• Review monthly countable athletically related activities (CARA) logs
• Update compliance forms as necessary
• Assist with complimentary admissions at home football games
• Assist with Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
• Supervise, train, and evaluate compliance interns
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience working in collegiate athletics
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team oriented environment
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills including the ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize detailed information to make sound, independent decisions
• Ability to work nights and weekends
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
• Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multi-cultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
