Description
Lead, direct, mentor, and oversee the athletic communications staff.
Become an integral member of the Athletics Senior Management Team.
Manage and create the strategic unit plan for the communication outreach for Intercollegiate Athletics including written, visual and video projects producing creative content.
Pieces will include, but not limited to, sport recaps, previews and features, community and academic events, marketing/ticketing initiatives and sponsorship element fulfillment.
Manage and approve all media requests for department.
Build local and regional relationships with all media partners.
Organize and oversee all press conferences.
Manage broadcast and new media initiatives, including radio and online broadcasts, video streaming, and daily video content.
Manage athletics website, oversee content management, and direct new website launch.
Report stats, schedules, rosters and all other media needs to meet NCAA, Sun Belt Conference and University expectations.
Travel with assigned teams as University representative.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Budget oversight, strong writing and editing skills, graphic design skills, knowledge of statistical programming, software skillset including office and adobe products.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of progressive intercollegiate athletic communications career development including areas of journalism, public relations, media services and new media strategies or the equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Division 1 Intercollegiate Athletics.
