Ransom Everglades School is seeking applications for a full time, Director of Aquatics and Head Swim Coach, beginning in August 2018. In addition to serving as the Head Coach of the Swim Team this twelve month staff member will be responsible for oversight and operation of The Ansin Aquatics Center and all aquatics programs. Additional duties assigned will depend on the experience of the successful candidate. Candidates who can contribute to the distinctiveness of the Ransom Everglades community are especially encouraged to apply.
The Director of Aquatics will:
• develop and manage revenue generating aquatics programs;
• manage use of the Ansin Aquatics Center by all external groups and partners;
• review, develop and implement operations manual including risk management protocols for the Ansin Aquatic Center;
• develop and market opportunities for all members of the Ransom Everglades community to take advantage of the Ansin Aquatic Center;
• collaborate with facilities department on all matters related to maintenance of the Ansin Aquatics Center;
• manage all aspects of the swim team.
Requirements:
• Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s degree; a Master’s degree is preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Passion for working with students; ability to work with a variety of people
• Flexibility of time necessary to make commitment to varying time needs of the position
• Satisfactory background check, to include criminal background and driving record check
• Up to date or willing to obtain Lifeguard certification
• Up to date or willing to obtain Lifeguard Instructor certification
• Up to date or willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED certification
• Physical Requirements include the ability to:
• respond to water emergencies,
• respond quickly to sounds,
• move safely over wet, uneven terrain or in confined spaces,
• see and respond to dangerous situations.
