Job Description:
Bellarmine University seeks applications for full-time Assistant Director of Athletics for NCAA Compliance. This position works under the direct supervision of the Director of Athletics and works cooperatively with the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Affairs. This position, along with coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Bellarmine's Intercollegiate Athletics program and for protecting the reputation of the University through compliance with all relevant rules. This position is available as of July 1, 2018.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Ensure the compliance of all university athletics programs with NCAA rules and regulations governing financial aid of student athletes.
• Oversee the National Letter of Intent (NLI) Program to include the development of all scholarship agreements and tracking NCAA individual and team grant-in-aid limits.
• Monitor and educate athletic department and university personnel to ensure compliance of NCAA rules.
• Analyze and evaluate prospective student-athlete initial eligibility, transfer eligibility and continuing eligibility.
• Track Academic Success Rate (ASR) and Academic Performance Report (APR) for the Athletics Department in conjunction with the Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR);
• Conversant with NCAA platforms such as the Eligibility Center, Compliance Assistant, etc. for record keeping and monitoring.
• Provide rules interpretation and monitor playing and practice seasons.
• Strong writing and oral communication skills, capable of interacting thoughtfully and considerably with student-athletes, coaches, campus partners, peers at other institutions, the NCAA, prospective student-athletes and their families.
• Comply with all University, Great Lakes Valley Conference or Southern Conference regulations, as applicable, as well as all NCAA rules and regulations.
