The Mulerider Athletics Department at Southern Arkansas University is seeking an Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance.
Duties: Certify eligibility for all sports; monitor coaches’ activities relative to rules compliance; interact with departmental staff members and coaches to ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations; serve as a liaison between SAU coaches and the NCAA Legislative Services, NCAA Eligibility Center, Admissions Office, and Registrar’s Office; collect and monitor CARA logs weekly from each head coach of their respective sport; maintain Declaration of Playing Season Forms from all sports; work synonymously with the Associate Director of Athletics for internal Operations to organize and conduct continuing rules education programming regarding NCAA and Great American Conference rules with coaches; compile and maintain the LSDBi and CAi programs; generate and receive transfer request forms and permission to contact forms for outgoing and incoming student-athletes; prepare and submit appeals and waivers, including medical hardship eligibility requests; act as the liaison between coaches, NCAA, GAC, and the University regarding all compliance and eligibility issues; report all violations of rules to the Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Operations and Director of Athletics for investigation/review; evening and weekend duties required; some travel requited and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. Collegiate experience preferred; proven ability to lead and manage people; possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrate ability and success in NCAA rules knowledge and management.
