Position Summary:
Extramurals Development. The Associate Director of Development serves as a member of the Georgia Southern University Athletics Foundation, charged with the identifying and soliciting philanthropic gifts to support student-athletes.
Essential Functions
Meets all prescribed metrics for donor visits, solicitations, and gifts per year.
Identifies and solicits major gifts for current capital campaign/projects.
Plans and executes stewardship events for major gift donors and prospects.
Participates in athletic development events, including home football game activities, on and off-campus donor events and other athletic events that attract a significant major gift donor presence.
Assists the Senior Associate Director of Development and Director of Development for Major Gifts in creating and managing a collaborative environment promoting teamwork between the Georgia Southern Athletics Foundation, Department of Athletics, University Advancement, and the greater Georgia Southern community.
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.
Preferred Experience::
Experience identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts of $25,000 – $250,000; previous experience planning and executing stewardship events for major gift donors and prospects; proficiency with productivity software include word processing, spreadsheets and donor tracking and management databases.
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
