Director, Concessions with Sporting Kansas City in Kansas City, KS
POSITION SUMMARY
• This role will be responsible for effectively and profitably managing and directing all day-to-day aspects of Concessions and Warehouse operations. In addition, this role is tasked with leading all concessions staff in providing the highest quality of service to guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Execute all menus, special promotions and programs as outlined by the General Manager.
• Oversee all concession operations at the stadium and any offsite locations.
• Liaison with staff including partner’s operational staff and other areas as needed to ensure efficient operational performance.
• Ensure operations and training of all subcontractors and non-profit organizations in a manner that upholds Sporting KC’s standard operating procedures.
• Be responsible for operational budget, managing monthly P&L statements and ensuring that all financial reporting is accurate.
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to staff responsible for executing the premium team business plan.
• Sustain cost as it pertains to labor and operating supplies, work within budgeted guidelines.
• Provide efficient service and quality products by maintaining positive customer and client relations through effective communication and prudent financial practices.
• Establish and maintain proper safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ensure proper repair and maintenance of food service equipment; create a working relationship with local health officials.
• Ensure unit compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding the sale of alcohol.
• Maintain management staff and ensure proper hiring and promoting of associates per Sporting KC standards.
• Work closely with multiple sub-contractors to ensure all needs are met, and terms of the contract are followed.
• Preserve existing programs and develop new concepts to ensure the highest possible quality of food service.
• Oversee monthly inventory for concessions and warehouse operations and develop yearly operational budgets.
• Represent Sporting KC in a professional manner at all times.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or another applicable field.
• 5-7 years’ experience in the high volume foodservice industry, preferably in concessions environment for a sports and entertainment venue.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate with employees, vendors, client representatives and guests in a positive and professional manner.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of accounting policy and procedures and POS Systems is preferred.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.
• Must be Serv Safe certified or willing to obtain a certification.

GAME DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support Swope Park and Wyandotte Soccer Fields concessions initiatives and brand engagements.
• Support Swope Park, Wyandotte Soccer Fields, and Sporting KC on match days.
• Communicate with external vendors to ensure they are aware of any special promotions or situations taking place.
