USL Memphis – Director of Corporate Sales
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Director of Corporate Sales works closely with senior management in planning, directing, and managing all sales operations of USL Memphis to achieve all individual and departmental sales goals. This position is responsible for the hiring, training, and development of the sales staff, as well as actively selling to help realize all company sales goals by driving corporate sales and creating new and innovative inventory to sell.
Essential Functions of the Job:
• Manage day-to-day operations of the department; participate in the development and implementation of sales goals, objectives, policies, and priorities.
• Involved in selling and managing all aspects of corporate sales and premium seating for the organization; requires time outside of office for sales calls and meetings.
• Participate in the development and administration of the annual budget; forecast expenses for department; direct the monitoring and approval of expenditures.
• Recruit, select, lead, motivate, and evaluate staff; provide or coordinate training as needed; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures.
• Assist with all other soccer and office related functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the USL Memphis senior Management.
Education and Experience Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience at the Director level.
• 7+ years of experience in sports sales and marketing, preferably at the minor league or major league level.
• 5+ years of experience in motivating sales staff for higher performance.
• Experience with ticketing software preferred.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Experience employing modern management methods, long range planning, principles of budgeting, and leadership skills.
• Thorough understanding of sales, sales strategies and goal setting.
• Strong leadership with excellent organizational, customer service and inter-personal skills.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Goal-oriented with proven sales ability.
• Proven ability to coach sales staff for higher performance.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and in inclement weather conditions.
Minimum Education and Experience:

• 2+ years of experience at the Director level (minimum).
• 5-7 years of experience in sports sales and marketing, preferably at the collegiate, minor league, or major league level.
• 3+ years of experience in motivating sales staff for higher performance.
• Experience with ticketing software preferred.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Thorough understanding of sales, sales strategies and goal setting.
• Strong leadership with excellent organizational, customer service and inter-personal skills.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
