The Assistant Athletics Director, Sports Medicine, under the direction of the Head Team Physician, supervises and coordinates the Sports Medicine staff in performing above duties. The position provides education, counseling and guidance for athletes in regard to their conditions and consultation with health care providers regarding injuries. The position maintains and documents all referrals, provides insurance paperwork to medical providers and to ICA administration, authorizes medical visits, and coordinates all insurance concerns with ICA administration. The position is responsible for the operation of the University’s main and satellite athletic training facilities and supervises and evaluates the Associate Director and Assistant Directors. The position reports to the Senior Associate Athletics Director/Senior Administrator .

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and four years, or Master’s Degree and two years, of experience managing or assisting with management of athletic training facilities at the Division I level with Men’s or Women’s sports programs
Any license or certificate required for this position:
• Certification by National Athletic Trainers’ Association as administered by the NATA Board of Certification (NATABOC)
• First aid and CPR certification
• Maintain continuing education units as required by the NATABOC
• Must be licensed in the State of Nevada
