SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing and Fan Development is responsible for the generation of revenue through ticket sales. This position is also responsible for increasing attendance and creating a positive and exciting game day atmosphere.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and execute ticket marketing plan, including advertising and promotion, which is designed to meet the department’s goals for revenue and attendance for football and men’s and women’s basketball. Team with other Athletic Department members to determine ticket packages and pricing. Develop and execute group and corporate ticket sales plans. Develop and execute plans leading to increased faculty, staff and student attendance. This includes working with on-campus groups for Homecoming, Family Weekend, and other campus-wide initiatives. Create and execute game day and community-based promotional activities. Develop and execute “fun zone” and/or “fan zone” activities for football and basketball events. Develop, organize and manage all game day promotions and game atmosphere enhancement activities. Cooperate with IMG and partners for the fulfillment of corporate sales efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A thorough knowledge of marketing, promotions and fan development is required. Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are required. Adherence to all applicable NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations is required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred. Individual must have 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
WORK HOURS:
Full-time, exempt position Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; 7.75 hrs./day; 38.75 hrs./week Requires some work on nights and weekends
