Lynn University, a member of the Sunshine State Conference and NCAA Division II, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant
Athletics Director for Compliance.
This position is responsible for ensuring that individuals and groups representing the university's athletic program comply with all institutional, Sunshine State Conference, and NCAA regulations.
The position is also responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of all policies and procedures relative to a comprehensive compliance program which includes recruiting, certification, eligibility, financial aid, playing and practice seasons, and amateurism.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Administer, educate and enforce Sunshine State Conference, NCAA and institutional compliance policies and procedures for all athletic sports.
• Inform and educate coaches, student athletes, administrators, staff, and faculty on NCAA rules and regulations.
• Evaluate the eligibility of prospective student athletes, review high school and college transcripts, national test scores, academic credentials and credit requirements; oversee academic progress toward degree.
• This position also provides academic and eligibility information to prospective student-athletes and parents.
• Serves as a member of the athletic department's senior leadership team. The DC reports directly to the Athletic Director with a dotted reporting line to the University Compliance Officer.
• Direct the institution's overall athletic compliance program consistent with all institution, Sunshine State Conference and NCAA regulations.
• Serves as the institution's primary resource and contact for athletic compliance with all institutional, Sunshine State Conference and NCAA regulations.
• Manages all NCAA Clearinghouse and NCAA Compliance Assistant Internet operations.
• Investigates, evaluates and reports all athletic waivers and violations.
• Coordinates all appeals hearings of athletic financial aid and transfer releases.
• Assists the Faculty Athletic Representative, Director of Financial Aid and Registrar with certifying initial, continuing and transfer eligibility of student-athletes.
• Manages all required compliance paperwork.
• Directs all compliance education for student-athletes, athletic and required institution staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Master's degree preferred. Bachelor's degree required.
• Must have four (4) years of experience working in an athletics compliance office at a NCAA-member institution or at the NCAA Office.
• Must demonstrate the personal attributes of innovation, adaptability and effective communication with coaches and university administration.
The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
In compliance with the Clery Act, the University annually provides a report to each student and current employee, as well as to prospective employees and students, that provides a detailed disclosure of information regarding campus security practices (including Emergency Response Plan, Timely Warnings, Emergency Warnings, Missing Persons, fire safety policies, fire prevention data, and Crime Log policies), as well as crime and fire-related incident statistics for the preceding year.
