Director of Marketing
Reports to: President
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement strategic marketing plans for Birmingham Legion FC
• Collaborate with the President and Director of Business Operations to create campaigns focused on both growing the new Season Ticket Member base, retention, group, advance, theme and walk up tickets
• Lead, manage, and create a plan for the entire marketing staff
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of the competitive landscape and the brand’s competing strengths, weaknesses and market position
• Plan and oversee advertising and promotional campaigns which may include TV, radio, print, social and digital marketing in an effort to ultimately drive sales and increase brand affinity
• Maintains consistent oversight and awareness of campaign results and proactively take corrective action, as needed, to optimize results
• Evaluate market trends and adjust strategies to adapt to the changing market and competitive conditions
• Manages game presentation and works closely with operations staff to ensure all client-facing marketing and brand elements are presented appropriately
• Collaborate with President and Director of Business Operations to ensure all creative assets properly reflect the brand and are consistent with marketing and sales objectives
• Work with other departments to ensure cross-platform execution
• Be a liaison with Corporate Sales and Marketing to ensure the organization’s partners are supporting sales through internal and external partner distribution channels
• Collaboratively support community initiatives
• Develop and motivate team members
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Experience & Knowledge:
• Ability to lead within a face-paced environment and deliver amidst demanding timelines
• Experience leading marketing and media agencies
• Ability to organize and oversee multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
• Extensive understanding of creative production processes and software
• Extensive experience developing social and digital creative solutions
• Strong problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
• Self-motivated
Experience:
• 4+ years within sports, entertainment, advertising agency or media industries
• 4+ years experience working with media agencies to coordinate delivering creative assets in line with media plans
• 2-4 years of direct supervisory experience
