The Position of Director of Intercollegiate Athletics:
California State University, Northridge is seeking an experienced, dynamic and energetic individual as its Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. The position is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating a competitive and respected Division I intercollegiate sports program that supports a balanced, high-quality educational and athletic experience for student-athletes. The Director of Intercollegiate Athletics is responsible for administering the program within the framework of appropriate national, regional, state, conference and university policies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, maintenance and promotion of the university's Intercollegiate Athletics program within an environment of uncompromising integrity and excellence. The Director of Intercollegiate Athletics is responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive media presence and cultivating and expanding external relationships with alumni, potential donors and sponsors, and the community. Working with University Advancement, the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics maintains primary responsibility for Athletics fundraising initiatives and activities. Provides leadership for and is responsible for the conduct, academic success, compliance, and evaluation of the Intercollegiate Athletics program. Recruits and evaluates coaches, development staff, and other support personnel. Working under the direction of the Vice President for Administration & Finance and CFO, the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics is responsible for Intercollegiate Athletic department operations, including general administration, budget management, procurement and contracts, personnel management, event management, and management and maintenance of athletic facilities.

This position is a "designated position" in the California State University's Conflict of Interest Code. The successful candidate accepting this position is required to file Conflict of Interest forms subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission. This position is a sensitive position as designated by the CSU. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily. Qualifications:
Demonstrated administrative experience, preferably in senior athletics administration at the Division I level. Bachelor's degree required, post-graduate degree preferred. Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and administer successful athletic programs that excel both competitively and academically. Demonstrated ability to adhere to NCAA and other relevant compliance regulations. Demonstrated ability in development, fundraising and external relations with the ability to easily develop rapport and establish networks of leadership level benefactors. Demonstrated ability as a leader able to promote the university, Athletic Program and all facets of student-athlete welfare with a commitment to gender equity. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to recruit and supervise coaches and administrative staff. Ability to recruit, motivate and retain student-athletes is required. Demonstrated commitment to academic excellence, diversity and integrity is required.
