Manages and oversees the daily operation of the CBU Events Center. Assists with overall maintenance and home athletic event management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.
1.Helps oversee the coordination of day-to-day sports activities and the maintenance of sports facilities, specifically the CBU Events Center.
2.Works collaboratively in the planning and organizing of campus event activities and the preparation of the facilities in which they are held, including managing logistics such as maintenance, resource scheduling, audience management, and the facilitation of communication and services with campus partners, internal staff and participants in the events.
3.Will serve as a main point of contact for all internal and external users of the facility in terms of scheduling, contracts, payment, among other items related to the usage.
4.Responsible for the hiring, supervision, development, and maintenance of pool of employees to work as ushers and other game-day operations individuals at the CBU Events Center.
5.Supervises and assists with setup, tear down and clean-up duties for athletic events, including but not limited to: setup and teardown of press tables, field and court equipment, bleachers, tables, chairs, barricades, A/V equipment, locker rooms, painting lines, etc.
6.Works with supervisor, coaching staffs and administrators to ensure coordination of availability based on athletic practice and event schedules.
7.As directed, prepares bid specifications, evaluates bids, and makes recommendations to the Assistant Director of Athletics for related equipment, materials and services.
8.Ensures all required game equipment (i.e. scoreboards, sport specific equipment, goals, nets, play clocks, etc.) pertaining to game day execution is operational. Troubleshoots game day issues regarding videoboards, scoreboards, shot/play clocks.
9.For assigned facility, conducts and completes weekly walk-throughs and checklists.
10.Helps oversee year-round facility maintenance planning and tracking of processes, which included defining the scope of work a project requires, discussion of long-term improvements and short term fixes within the budget provided with direct supervisor, and working with facilities staff members in identifying issues and tracking them to a solution.
11.Assists in preparation of equipment, playing areas and locker rooms for games and practices for home team, visiting team and officials’ locker rooms.
12.Helps oversee the work of lower level athletic equipment staff and/or students engaged in the day-to-day performance of related activities.
13.Produce work orders for athletic facilities when appropriate for the CBU Events Center or otherwise.
14.May act as a primate game day manager (or secondary manager) with game management operations for selected events in addition to any event at the CBU Events Center.
15.Adheres to all institutional, conference and NCAA by-laws and regulations.
16.Ensures the physical, emotional and social welfare of student-athletes.
17.Establishes and maintains a safe environment for student-athletes.
Directly supervises employees, to serve as ushers and other game-day operation individuals at the CBU Events Center.
In addition, the position will assign work and/or give direction to part-time Student Workers and vendors in order to complete work assignments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
