Hamilton is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Director of Blood Fitness Center / Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Duties for this exempt level, benefited position include but are not limited to assisting the director of the Blood Fitness Center with all functions of running the Center and the College’s wellness program and leading the Athletics Department’s strength and conditioning program.
As Assistant Fitness Center and Wellness Director, the candidate will assist the Director of the Blood Fitness Center with all programming and management of the Center.
Responsibilities include directing and supervising the center in the Director’s absence, assisting with the planning and implementation of various wellness programs, hiring and monitoring of fitness center and wellness employees, coordinating maintenance of the facility with Physical Plant, and scheduling use of the facility.
As head strength and conditioning coach, the candidate will be responsible for all aspects of running the strength and conditioning program for the intercollegiate athletics program, including the supervision of the weight room, the hiring and supervision of student workers in the weight room, program design that guides student-athletes through a regimen of exercises to optimize performance and decrease injury potential, collaboration with the Sports Medicine Staff regarding injury prevention strategies and student athlete rehabilitation techniques, assisting with the oversight of sport-specific conditioning programs, teaching proper weight lifting, speed, agility and conditioning techniques; encouraging and motivating student-athletes to train and perform to their utmost potential, scheduling athletic teams, and supervising student-athlete workouts.
The candidate will also teach in the Physical Education Department, and assist with the Sports Medicine staff if Athletic Training Certified (ATC). Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Athletics.

The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree (Physiology, Sport Science or related field is preferred) and have current NSCA-CSCS Certification. Candidates with Athletic Training Certified (ATC) credentials will be given preference. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in strength and conditioning, athletic training, coaching, and/or athletic administration. The candidate must possess the ability to effectively communicate and work well with student-athletes, coaches, faculty, staff and the community. Evening and weekend availability is required.
