The University of Missouri, a proud member of the SEC, is now accepting applications for the full-time, benefit eligible position of Advancement Director- Major Gifts - Intercollegiate Athletics Development.
Reporting to the Assistant Athletics Director - Development - Major Gifts, this position will be responsible for the identification, soliciting and closing of individual major gift prospects producing a continuous stream of donors capable of designating gifts of $ 100,000 or more to Mizzou Athletics.
Additionally, this position will manage a portfolio of 135 to 150 major gift prospects and will conduct, at minimum, 180 substantive in-person visits with new and current prospects; actively manage donor relationships and prospects with the goal of increasing both capital gift and annual giving support for Mizzou Athletics; collaborating with other university staff to best match donors' philanthropic interest with current ICA priorities; work collaboratively with donors to ensure effective stewardship and timely fulfillment of athletics donor benefits; execute premium seating sales for the sports of Football and Men's Basketball; prepare and present reports, concisely and effectively, conveying the success of programs and making recommendations for improvements; promote the philosophy and objectives of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to include adhering to all departmental policies and procedures as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the SEC and NCAA.
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
One year of experience in development, public relations, marketing or related area is necessary.
Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record and be insurable.
Master's degree and knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines is preferred.
