RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist the Athletic Director in the overall administration of Winona State University Athletic programs. Coordinate and supervise the internal management of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics including personnel management, facilities, athletic support services, budgeting and contest operations within the philosophy of the institution, NCAA and NSIC/WIAC. Oversee the Compliance Office and work with the Faculty Athletic Representative to insure that the institution is in compliance with NCAA Division II/III and NSIC/WIAC rules and regulations. Assist in initiating and coordinating the planning and policies necessary to achieve compliance with gender-equity and Title IX. This will involve keeping up-to-date on new developments including Federal and State legislation in order to provide direction for future planning.
2. Assist in the development and management of the fiscal year budget and scholarship allocations. Manage and process the budgetary allocation and expenditure records of the athletic department budgets. Responsible for completing the annual EADA and NCAA Financial reports.
3. Coordinate department community service activities and the Student Athlete Life Skills Program. This will include working with local businesses and organizations to provide student athletes for community service activities, coordinating mandatory programming for student athletes for Life Skills points/competition, and tracking all community service activities to ensure involvement by all teams.
4. Serve as a liaison between the Athletic Department and the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and the Athletic Review Committee. This will include organizing and running all SAAC meetings and activities.
5. Coordinate all department meetings for compliance education, head coaches, assistant coaches, budget, weekly administrative staff meetings and other meetings as necessary.
6. Other duties assigned by the Athletic Director, to include sales/fundraising and event management.
Notes:
1. Night and weekend hours required.
2. On-call for issues that may arise related to student athletes and team travel.
3 Some lifting may be required to assist games management and equipment managers as needed.
4. Overnight travel will be required to attend NCAA National Convention, NSIC meetings, and other professional meetings as well as administrative representation at post-season events for qualifying teams.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master's degree; or bachelors plus 10 years of administrative experience in college athletics
2. Three (3) years' of experience at a NCAA member institution, conference office or NCAA national office
