NOTICE OF POSITION VACANCY
University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics POSITION: Associate Director, Video Services, Broadcast Technology 12 Month service basis, 100% Academic Professional Appointment PRIMARY FUNCTION: Direct, oversee and administer broadcast technological practices and application within the scope of live event production.
DESCRIPTION:
•Direct and oversee all video services unit technical operations
•Capture, create, control, maintain and product video scoreboard graphics, features and activities displayed during home basketball, football, baseball and softball games.
•Coordinate live event presentation and practices
•Work in collaboration with Big Ten Network for the production of featured network television shows and special content
•Work in collaboration with DIA staff to create marking, publicity, highlight, banquet and other features videos
•Review budget for video, maintenance of equipment, and acquisition, implementation and assembly of broad equipment and/or technology
•Troubleshoot any problems that may occur with video equipment and software and schedule service repair
•Oversee inventory control of video equipment and supplies
•Assist with directing and administering all duties and responsibilities regarding part time video assistants and intern staff, including coordinating schedules, hire and select members of video staff, assign and evaluate work.
•Maintain knowledge of and compliance with, specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules that relate to this position.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, computer technology, creative services, or related field
Preferred:
Master’s degree in same
Experience:
• Three to four years of experience in live television or comparable experience in athletic video board operation
• Production and direction at a professional or collegiate program
• Minimum three years editing experience in linear and non-linear formats
• Proficient in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop
• Experience in operating Click Effects Blaze, and or Daktronics Show Controller
• Ability to meet short deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a team-orientated and fast-paced environment
• Ability to work long hours and weekends.
