Foundation Development Director
Summary:
The Foundation Development Director will lead all fundraising initiatives that will ultimately increase support and resources for United States Field Hockey Association (USFHA) and the United States Field Hockey Foundation (USFHF).
Duties & Responsibilities
• Responsible for the overall strategic planning, implementation, follow-up, and management of USHFA and USFHF fundraising programs and events
• Adhere to USFHA & USFHF Fundraising Policy, developed by the Joint Committee and approved by both boards.
• Lead USFHA and USFHF to increase philanthropy and sustain a strong endowment program.
• Steward donors via a variety of communications and experiences. Reinforce philanthropic behavior and move donors up through giving levels when possible.
• Maintain a fundraising database that will assist with efficiency in communications within our audience.
• Collaborate with USFHA and USFHF Board of Trustees to establish strategies that will increase giving with our audience.
• Generate and update fundraising content for the USFHA and USFHF websites, e-newsletter and email blasts.
• Execute Annual Fund campaign.
• Develop and monitor budgetary information, prepare forecasts, and report on revenues and expenses for fundraising activities.
• Perform other fundraising duties as assigned by the USFHA CEO/Executive Director and USFHF Officers.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in: sports administration, sports management, marketing, business or similar field of study
Licensure & Certification:
• None
Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s preferred
• Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience in successful fundraising
• Sport organization fundraising experience preferred
• Nonprofit fundraising experience preferred
• Field hockey knowledge and experience is preferred
• Events production
Skills:
• Excellent sales and negotiation skills with the flexibility, ability, and tact to work with a variety of clients and people (including volunteers) to accomplish tasks
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office systems, Outlook, and database programs (ie. Blackbaud Raisers Edge)
• Ability to concurrently manage several high-priority programs
• Can compile and evaluate donor demographics and trends
Tools, Equipment, & Conditions:
• This is primarily an office position, although some field work will be required.Incumbent will be required do to some lifting of no more than 40lbs. Long periods of sitting may occur.Field work may consist of standing for long periods of time, crouching, reaching and bending.Field work may also be in areas of high noise levels. Incumbent will need to be able to successfully operate basic office equipment with ease. Travel and work on weekends, evenings and occasional holidays are a requirement of this position.
Work Remote or USA Field Hockey Office in Colorado Springs as approved by USFHA CEO/ED and supported by the USFHF Trustees.
