The Assistant Media Relations Director will be responsible for serving as the key media relations contact for his/her assigned sports. This team player will coordinate our website and write, compile stats, and edit content with a specific focus on accuracy and timeliness; prepare game notes and press releases to ensure effective coverage and proper NCAA and Conference reporting; maintain and update athletic department web site; respond to and manage media requests, interviews, news conferences and photo sessions; provide event coverage and game-day management functions and work closely with the Sr. Associate AD/Media Relations to effectively promote both programs nationally and have a strong working knowledge of the stat crew software and the ability to work closely as a secondary contact in men’s basketball and primary contact for three additional sports.

Bachelor’s degree required in journalism, athletics administration, public relations or similar fields or equivalent education, training, and experience.
Two (2) to three (3) years of athletics media relations experience at the collegiate or professional level.
Working knowledge of social media and digital marketing.
Outstanding proficiency in desktop publishing software, Adobe PhotoShop, Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer on either Macintosh or Windows platforms or both; familiarity with Stat Crew Systems software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong research skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.
Demonstrated previous experience in working in a NCAA Division I athletic department or a professional sports organization preferred.
