The Associate Athletics Director for Annual Giving and Ticket Operations will provide leadership and management for the annual giving team, developing data-based strategies that will help to grow the annual fund through membership acquisition and upgrades, and other methods of revenue generation. Provide staff support and leadership to the Terrapin Club Board of Directors, organizing the efforts of these volunteers to support the donor/membership and fund raising goals for the department. Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors and prospects for annual and major gifts to meet department priorities and needs. Oversee Ticket Operations, Sales and Service units, providing leadership to the ticket office staff and collaborating with other external unit heads to maximize ticket revenue and attendance for the athletic department’s ticketed events and for exploring new partnerships and initiatives to achieve this goal. Collaborate with other external units and information technology to integrate a customer relations management (CRM) structure focused on data integrity and systematic communication between CRM tools, sales leads, athletic ticketing system (Paciolan) and University alumni and donor database (Advance).

Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience:
Seven (7) to ten (10) years of successful development and/or ticket operations experience. A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory/management experience.
A proven record of working effectively creating and executing data-based strategies to grow and sustain an athletics annual fund and/or a ticket sales program is required.
Experience in managing full-time staff and a budget; experience with customer relations management systems is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The candidate must have a proven track record of building excellent donor/client relationships. Must have a willingness and ability to make discovery calls and to cultivate relationships with and solicit individuals and corporations.
The candidate must have excellent writing skills. Must have the ability to manage many projects simultaneously and a demonstrated record of completing assignments. The candidate must have a strong customer service ethic and experience overseeing successful events and activities.
The candidate must exhibit strong interpersonal skills that will enable him or her to work well with diverse groups of constituents and colleagues. He or she must demonstrate the aptitude to represent the University in a highly professional and effective manner.
The candidate must be an excellent leader. The ability to set goals, monitor progress towards those goals and motivate a staff to achieve success in their own jobs is an important component of this position. The ability to lead by always setting an excellent example is also very important.
The candidate must have an outstanding work ethic. This position involves travel and frequent evening and weekend work.
Preferences:
Master’s degree preferred.
Development experience at an NCAA FBS level program or within a large complex organization preferred.
Experience in working with/overseeing volunteers in fundraising is preferred.
