Hood College is seeking a full-time Athletic Director (AD). Reporting to the president, the AD will lead Hood College’s Division III intercollegiate athletic program fielding 20 sports with over 300 student athletes, as well as oversee club sports and an intramural recreation program. Reporting to the president, the AD will join Hood at an exciting time in its 125 year history as it embarks on an ambitious strategic plan that includes increased investment in the athletics program as a critical part of an experientially-based, holistic education. Hood is a member of the Middle Atlantic Conference, the second oldest Division III conference in the U.S., which includes 17 institutions, fields 27 sports and 40 championships. Located in Frederick MD, the College benefits from its proximity to the DC-Metro region and a dynamic city recognized for its quality of life and amenities.
Required qualifications include: master’s degree, at least five years of athletic administrative experience in higher education, preferably including coaching experience, knowledge of NCAA DIII rules and regulations, experience in garnering support for athletics and effective student-athlete recruitment.
