SALARY:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
he Assistant Athletics Director for Development/Director of Development will serve as a major gifts officer on behalf of Intercollegiate Athletics and University Advancement for Ohio University. This position will manage a portfolio consisting of annual and major gift donors and prospects. The primary focus will be on identifying new prospects (ie pipeline builder), cultivating current/prospective donors, soliciting major gifts as well as stewarding current/new donors. This person shall maintain a full development travel schedule.
Essential Functions:
1. Manage a portfolio of approximately 200 annual and major gift donors. Identify annual and major gift leads including planned giving. Collaborate with other university gift officers to develop strategies for donors/prospects who have multiple philanthropic interests. Cultivate donors/prospects to successfully move them into solicitation. Solicit gifts at the specified level or greater of the assigned major gift peer group. Annual performance metric targets consist of three goals; raise $1,000,000, make 20 asks of $25,000 or more and conduct 125 visits. Initiate, develop and coordinate the creation and delivery of proposals to prospective supporters. The position will require extensive travel to effectively meet monthly/annual goals. (90% of time)
2. Other duties as assigned including but not limited to; Ohio Bobcat Club Advisory Board & Foundation Board participation as well as attending home & away athletic events which could occur during nights, weekends or occasional holidays. (10% of time).
This position requires a self-motivated person with willingness and ability to travel. Successful candidate must be able to work some holidays, evenings, and/or weekends.

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university required.
Three years’ experience in fundraising or a closely related/comparable field.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
The preferred candidate will have development experience in college athletics.
