Position Summary:
Extramurals Development. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Executive Director oversees, directs, and manages all aspects of athletic fundraising associated with the Athletic Department which includes fundraising development, Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation, and priority programs and premium seating, all of which are focused on revenue generation.
Essential Functions
Provides leadership to the Athletic Development Office with personal responsibility for major and capital gifts (primarily gifts of over $10,000).
Provides oversight to the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Development Office, staff, and Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation board.
Performs financial reporting to GSAF Board members; communicates plans for GSAF Board; establishes a calendar of yearly meetings to conduct GSAF Board Business.
Creates innovative strategies to increase and enhance the fan base.
Provides oversight to staff responsible for development of travel packages for members to support programs on the road.

Bachelor’s Degree

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.
Preferred Education:
Preferred Experience::
Five years of progressively responsible, successful fundraising experience with a demonstrated track record of securing $50,000+ gifts; previous experience supervising a sports program.
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
