JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities, Operations & Events is a senior leadership team position for the Department of Athletics. The Associate Director of Athletics will provide leadership for the facilities, operations & events staff on a day-to-day basis in addition to oversight of athletics facilities, game operations and outside events for the College of the Holy Cross' Division I intercollegiate athletics program. This position will serve as the athletic department lead for all athletic capital projects, facility improvements, and annual facility maintenance. . The successful candidate will ensure communication & coordination in scheduling facilities and events with coaches, athletic department staff and other campus staff in addition to compliance with all federal, NCAA, league, college and state regulations as they relate to athletics facilities. The Associate Director of Athletics will also create and manage departmental resources in a fiscally responsible manner and maintain applicable policies and procedures for the use and rental of all athletics facilities and outside events.
Major Areas of Responsibility
• Responsible for the leadership of the facilities, operations and events full-time staff, part-time staff and student employees.
• Responsible for the oversight of all athletics facilities, athletic game operations, outside events and facility rentals for the Department of Athletics.
• Act as the department liaison with campus facilities staff to ensure all athletics facilities are cleaned & maintained in an appropriate manner though daily communication and coordination with the campus facilities department staff.
• Assist in identifying annual capital improvement needs for the department and, in conjunction with the campus facilities department, manage the implementation of approved capital improvement projects.
• Develop and maintain departmental facilities policies & procedures manuals and visiting team guides for each athletic facility.
• Work with all varsity coaches, athletic department staff, and campus personnel to schedule & allocate facilities time usage for all athletics teams, departmental needs and additional campus events (as approved).
• Determine availability and manage the scheduling and use by third party groups of athletics facilities for revenue generation as appropriate (outside rentals).
• Act as the department lead on summer camps / sport clinic scheduling and campus liaison for the athletic department in those areas.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, NCAA, league, College and state regulations as they relate to athletics facilities.
• Act as the department lead on NCAA & Patriot League championships hosted on the Holy Cross campus.
• The position will be the department lead for interactions with Campus Facilities and Public Safety among other constituencies. As such, this position must be able to diplomatically and effectively communicate and interface with other campus entities to meet athletic department goals.
REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor's Degree is required, but a master's degree is preferred. A minimum of three years of leadership experience in intercollegiate athletics is required. Related experience in facilities, operations and events is required. Strong organizational, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills are necessary with the ability to work independently
