ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, VARSITY O ASSOCIATION
Campus: Norman
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm; night, weekend, and holiday hours as required
Salary Range: Negotiable

Description
Assistant/Associate Director, Varsity O Association will be responsible for advancing the mission of the Athletics Department through its extensive network of letterwinners by providing opportunities to regularly engage with the OU Athletics Department.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Providing day-to-day operational management: emails, phone calls, ticket requests/purchases, social media, website, and travel
• Implementing strategy and maintaining regular correspondence between OU Athletics Department and letterwinners through various methods of communication
• Coordinating reunions, anniversary celebrations, Sooner Caravans, and other events as related to letterwinners
• Assisting Sooner Club staff in coordination of special events to ensure that letterwinners are present, involved, and recognized
• Working collaboratively with Sooner Club and Ticket Office to fulfill requests in a timely manner
• Working closely with University of Oklahoma Alumni Association to identify and include all letterwinners in Alumni Association activities
• Maintaining working relationship with Oklahoma coaching staffs and sport administrators to identify current student-athlete letter winners to successfully transition from student-athlete status to alumni status
• Collaborating with Director of Licensing to promote Varsity O merchandising program
• Actively engaging in fundraising activities that support ongoing programs of Sooner Club, O Club, and other projects
Required Education: Bachelor Degree OR 48 months event planning, fundraising, programming or other related experience
Skills:
• Proficient navigating and maintaining databases
• Able to understand a chart of accounts and code entries to proper account
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
• Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
• Able to produce reports and complete work within deadlines
• Strong initiative to solve problems
• Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
• Customer service
• Ability to gain and maintain working knowledge of university, Big 12, and NCAA rules and regulations
• Ability to build rapport quickly with student-athletes, coaches, staff, letterwinners, and other alumni
• Able to effectively evaluate projects/programs and produce comprehensive reports
• Must be able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively
• Must have strong ability to lead project teams
Certifications:
• Valid driver's license for travel to events
Advertised Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to engage in repetitive motions, lift up to 25 pounds, and communicate.
Departmental Preferences:
• Master's Degree
• 24 months event planning, fundraising, programming or other related experience
• Experience in a collegiate athletics department as a student-athlete, coach, or staff member
• Experience planning alumni and/or donor events
• Working knowledge of university, Big 12, and/or NCAA rules and regulations
Supervision: Team Leader
