The Compliance Department is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of all activities related to a comprehensive NCAA Division I compliance program which includes, but is not limited to: recruiting; eligibility; financial aid; playing and practice seasons; student-athlete employment; amateurism; extra benefits; waivers; enforcement and all required reporting.
Team Assignments: - Our compliance staff is organized by sport rather than by bylaws or topic areas. As such, the director of compliance will provide education, monitoring, interpretations and full compliance support to five or six intercollegiate teams for NCAA bylaws primarily in the areas of bylaws 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17. - Collaborate formally in a weekly meeting and informally daily with the rest of the compliance staff to determine the answers to interpretations, the best strategies for waivers, and advice for handling various situations.
Rules Education/Interpretations:
- Create and implement a yearly educational plan for the entire athletics department outlining all educational sessions and efforts.
- Create and implement specific educational presentations for all internal and external constituencies including, but not limited to: coaches meetings, staff specific meetings, sport specific meetings, local merchants, institutional faculty/staff, donors/supporters, and student-athletes.
- Create and distribute timely educational reminders and articles to coaches/ staff/ student-athletes and to monthly and quarterly institutional and/or athletics publications.
- Travel occasionally throughout the state to provide compliance-related educational sessions to boosters/ donors/ high schools.
- Assist in gathering data for the NCAA Sports Sponsorship and Demographic Data report, and assisting other staff members with all other NCAA reports.
- Create and post compliance education on Facebook and Twitter.
- Other duties as assigned by Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance.
- Assist Associate and Assistant Athletics Directors with other duties as assigned.

Minimum of two years’ compliance experience at an NCAA Division I institution or conference.
Be able to work in a team environment and be a self-motivated staff member.
Possess excellent verbal and written skills.
Possess knowledge of basic computer systems such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred:
Master’s degree and at least three years’ experience in the area of athletics compliance at an NCAA Division I institution or Division I conference.
Solid experience with database software as well as NCAA Compliance Assistant and LSDBi.
Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment as well as a desire to work hard and independently.
Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work well with others; desire to learn new things and build upon one’s knowledge and skills.
