Director Finance, NA IBD
Position Summary
Direct and oversee all financial planning and analysis activities, credit/collections, and financial reporting for the NA IBD businesses.
Financial Duties and Responsibilities
• Partner with and provide financial thought-leadership to the GM of US IBD and GM of Canada IBD as well as other senior management; provide insightful value-added advice and recommendations.
• Analyze operations and working capital components to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
• Perform thorough analysis of financial results, demonstrating a strong understanding of the key business drivers and meet monthly with Sr. Management to review results compared to budget, forecast and Prior Year.
• Manage the NA IBD credit and collections organization. Ensure consistent improvement in DSO, timely cash collections of A/R, and proper credit risk management.
• Manage and control the NA IBD operating expense pool of >$20M.
• Oversee and direct the preparation of management accounting reports and analysis.
• Be a key leader helping to drive the monthly S&OP (Sales and Operation Planning) meetings. Ensure alignment between demand plan and financial forecast. Help identify and drive actions to close demand gap vs. Budget.
• Oversee product pricing and develop strategies in collaboration with Sr. management to maximize volume and gross margin %’age.
• Coordinate development of the Annual Plan, Multi-year Strategic Plan and Monthly Forecast Updates; conduct Financial review / vetting thereof.
• Oversee preparation of the Annual Plan, Quarterly Business Review and Monthly Business Review Presentations.
• Study long-range economic trends and project prospects for future growth in overall sales and market share, opportunities for acquisitions or expansion into new product areas.
• Develop and maintain internal controls.
• Manage a team of 10 FTEs.
Essential Qualifications
• Minimum of BS degree in Business, Economics, Finance or Accounting. Ideal candidate has a MBA.
• Other degrees considered given relevant experience.
• 7-10+ years of experience in financial management with increasing responsibilities.
• Excellent financial analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial reporting and accounting, and a proven ability to work across functions within an organization.
• Ability to work in a lean organization requiring a roll-up his/her sleeves disposition.
• Strong combination of strategic orientation and operational focus.
• Experience in consumer goods business.
• Strong understanding of S-OX and internal controls.
• Proven leadership skills
• Advanced in MS Office applications: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across cultures and functions.
• Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
• Must be able to travel internationally for business
Beneficial Qualifications
• Experience with SAP, HOST Analytics/Hyperion Essebase, and Cognos is a plus.
• Prior experience supporting a GM or regional leader is a plus.
• International experience.
• Other positive attributes would include recreation industry experience and familiarity with a multi-brand oriented environment.
