The Director is responsible for prospect review and research, cultivating, soliciting, securing and stewarding through multiple contacts to strengthen relationships between prospects and donors to USA Hockey.
Portfolio will continually evolve based upon each individual donor life cycle through moves management strategy. Role is predominantly based upon interaction with individuals through face-to-face visits, phone calls, and emails.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identify and prioritize prospects in Massachusetts and New England Region.
• Prospect visit strategy and planning, including engaging other members of the team as needed.
• Meet or exceed annual metrics goal.
• Proven ability to manage a portfolio and secure gifts of over $10k.
• Ability and desire to be based in region, with frequent travel throughout the region.
• No relocation fees
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a solicitation based non-profit development role. Higher Ed Development experience preferred.
• Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge knowledge or similar CMR mandatory.
• Love of athletics and connecting donors with their passion.
• Truly enjoys interacting with people and learning about their interests, and is a great listener.
• A great communicator. Both in person in a variety of settings and in writing.
• Strategic organizer who concentrates on the details needed to work with each prospect, from the initial phone call to the follow-up.
• Competitive about results, against their goals.
• Individual with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of USA Hockey and The USA Hockey Foundation.
• A team player who is humble and coachable.
