Executive Director - San Ramon Futbol Club
Position: Full time, exempt. Reports to Board President
Start Date: Open - Available Immediately
Location: San Ramon, CA (East San Francisco Bay Area)
About San Ramon FC: Founded in 1973, San Ramon FC (SRFC) is a non-profit soccer club which boasts a tradition of developing not only great players, but also great people. While promoting exemplary sportsmanship and ethics with an emphasis on developing the player, SRFC provides the opportunity for more than 2000 recreational and competitive youth members to play soccer each year. Our mission is to develop players, character and community through soccer.
Position Summary: SRFC seeks an Executive Director (“ED”) to serve as the managerial lead of SRFC, a non-profit organization. The ED reports to and regularly works with the volunteer 11-member Board of Directors through its elected President. The ED has overall strategic and operational responsibility for San Ramon FC’s technical, operational and managerial staff, programs, budget and execution of its mission, including strategic planning, financial development, customer and public relations, marketing, and soccer planning and execution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership in developing programs, organizational, operational, human resources and financial plans with the Board, and executing plans and policies authorized by the Board.
• Ensure ongoing program excellence and accountability through rigorous program evaluation.
• Ensure consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications and systems.
• Provide regular updates to Board of Directors.
• Lead, coach, develop, support, manage and retain operations and senior technical staff to ensure successful delivery of programs and execution of SRFC’s mission and vision.
• Oversee, train, and develop career paths for operations and senior technical staff with a goal to leverage their expertise and empower them in their specific area of responsibility.
• Ensure effective systems are in place to drive operational efficiency and accountability.
• Develop a culture of excellence with the goal to meet SRFC’s mission and develop quality programs and retain staff and members.
• Foster an environment of continuous improvement, consistency and connection for all SRFC employees and members.
• Recruit and hire senior staff; review and approve senior staff recommendations for hiring direct reports.
• Ensure adequate and appropriate business files, corporate records, board records and volunteer information are retained and safeguarded.
• Ensure biannual review of employees conducted, communicated and documented, and disciplinary issues are properly documented.
• Ensure legal, employment and fiscal requirements are met, and all statutory requirements are met to maintain non-profit status.
• Manage all contracts and legal agreements, including monitoring vendor relationships and evaluating performance.
• Manage facilities, equipment and technology.
• Demonstrate superior customer service commitment and delivery.
• Work with soccer staff to ensure plans in place to develop players, have competitive teams and grow membership.
• Develop annual budget with input from Board and Senior Staff.
• Develop yearly forecasts, monthly and quarterly budget reports, and monthly financial analysis.
• Meet annual financial goals in cooperation with Board.
• Supervise accounting and financial recordkeeping and reporting.
• Develop, monitor, and report key operational metrics and performance indicators.
• Identify, pursue, and secure opportunities for grants, sponsorships and donations to support SRFC development, facilities, programs and special events.
• Maximize program revenue generation and fundraising activities to support existing programs, provide additional opportunities to members, and maintain reasonable, stable soccer registration fees to ensure accessibility to members.
• Oversee execution of financial aid and scholarship programs to assure distributions meet goals and policy requirements.
• Develop, implement, manage and update strategic marketing plan, communication and branding strategy.
• Ensure all staff are providing timely responses in all communications.
• Deepen and refine all aspects of marketing and communications with the goal of creating a stronger brand and connection with membership and community.
• Represent SRFC as primary contact with community leaders, city organizations, neighboring soccer clubs, and soccer affiliating and oversight bodies.
• Organize, direct, and monitor strategic and program planning.
• Create and deliver Annual Reports to membership and Annual General Meeting.
• Develop increased organizational capacity and determine overall resource needs of organization based on resources and strategic goals.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university.
• Strong administrative background that reflects solid management, communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with young people, parents and community leaders.
