The Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Enrollment and Engagement reports to the Associate Vice President / Director of Athletics. The position involves a high level of judgment and autonomy and requires good knowledge of college athletics enrollment practices, policies and procedures. The position requires and experienced professional with data-driven decision making expertise.
The incumbent will coordinate and manage the athletic department’s contributions to key college initiatives of enrollment and annual giving. Working closely with the enrollment department (admission and financial aid), marketing department, and institutional advancement department, the incumbent will develop robust multi-channel recruitment and fundraising strategies.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND GOALS

•Develop and implement a data-driven, strategic athletic recruitment plan that is multi-dimensional and student centric across 21 varsity programs
•Design and maintain processes and reports for strategic growth and development for athletic department decision making
•Conduct research, compile and prepare reports and studies that support athletic enrollment and fundraising
•Analyze reports and data sets to identify problems to determine and implement solutions
•Develop implications from analysis and make recommendations to the Associate Vice President / Director of Athletics and coaches regarding actions to be taken
•Work closely with Institutional Research to develop and administer questionnaires and surveys for athletic enrollment and annual giving efforts
•Develop a thorough understanding of the college’s admission and financial aid process through systemic interaction with staff •Collaborate with Admission and Communications/Marketing in creating consistent, compelling messaging for use by coaches in recruiting •Strategically streamline departmental resources toward recruitment initiatives
•Create and manage business intelligence, data policies, procedures and standards within the athletic department, including the tracking of recruiting progress of relevant metrics through weekly updates with coaches
•Oversees a customized approach to prospective student athlete and parent visits, including class visits, faculty meetings, career center meetings and other administrative meetings as needed
•Serve as the athletic department representative with the college’s enrollment management team, including serving as the departmental representative with admissions programming staff (Open House Days, Admitted Student Days, College Fair events, etc.)
•Engages Academic and Student Affairs offices to promote the retention and graduation of student-athletes
•Regularly inform the Associate Vice President / Director of Athletics of recruitment status of all 21 varsity programs
•Participates in continuing in-service training related to academic, admission, and financial aid information
•Streamline departmental alumni and parent engagement opportunities collaborating with the Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement •Serve as the departmental representative in planning, organizing and facilitating alumni events
•Meet with coaches for weekly updates regarding alumni and parent engagement
•Performs other duties as assigned or requested

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in education and experience, Master’s degree in related field preferred
• A strong commitment to the Student-Athlete concept and a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is required
• Three years collegiate recruiting experience including effective leadership, communication and coaching skills is preferred
• Experience either as an athletic liaison to a selective college admission office or directly in admission is preferred
• Committed to the values of a liberal arts education
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering
• Must be organized, take initiative, and utilize strong time management skills
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to travel for competition and recruitment in and out of state
• Strong positive communication and interpersonal skills with all levels
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to excel as a member of a diverse community
