Responsibilities:
Assistant Athletic Director for Business/Special Events
•Acts as a key decision-maker instrumentally involved with the athletics department.
•Participates on senior management team of athletics department.
•Advocates issues important to female and male student-athletes, coaches and staff.
•Oversees SAAC, educates and addresses student athletes on issues pertaining to the successful student athlete experience and work to promote game day events.
•Works cooperatively with the Director of Athletics to serve as the liaison between coaches, faculty and staff for generating academic progress reports twice a semester and leads student-athletes in successfully balancing academics and athletics.
•Coordinate guest speakers to assist with student athlete development & special events (Hall of Fame/Student Athlete Banquet). •Oversees all fundraising deposits and ensure paperwork is complete.
•Processes all Purchase Orders and check request.
•Oversees official’s payments.
•Coordinate other Athletic Special Events (Special Olympics, Division III Week, etc.).
•Assists Director of Athletics in day-to-day operations of main athletic office.
•Responsible for main athletics phone and athletic email.
•Coordinate and schedule athletic interns.
•Game Management duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Directors.
•All responsibilities assumed as Head Coach of women’s lacrosse program. Responsibilities: Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach
•Provides leadership and supervision in all aspects of the women’s lacrosse program including, recruitment, retention, academic support, practice preparation, game strategy, alumni development, fundraising and community service
•Recruitment of student athletes who meet the College's admission requirements. Meets annual recruitment goals as developed annually by the Director of Athletics and Assistant Athletic Director/Admissions Liaison.
•Full participation in monthly staff meetings, attendance at annual open house, Accepted students day and Division III celebration week activities.
•Coordinate and outline a complete recruiting agenda within recruiting budget, to identify quality student athletes.
•Mandatory attendance at all monthly staff meetings, admission open houses and scheduled orientations. Ensures compliance with all College, Skyline Conference and NCAA rules and regulations related to recruiting and academic monitoring for student-athletes •Collaborates with the Sports Information Director for the positive promotion of the women’s lacrosse program. Areas included should be individual and team statistics, media guides, reports to NCAA, Skyline Conference, individual accolades on and off the field and website updates
•Ensures department and College regulations are understood by and complied with by student athletes and coaching staff.
•Work closely with the Athletics Department in any fundraising activities that assist with women’s lacrosse program and/or the department in general.
•Represent the College at athletics meetings including Skyline Conference meetings/conference calls and NCAA coaches’ convention. •Schedule competitive non-conference game schedule annually
•Monitoring the academic status of student-athletes.
•Pass annual NCAA recruiting exam.
•Coordinate a minimum of two (2) community outreach projects for the promotion of CMSV athletics
•Develop and manage an annual operating budget and oversee the purchasing, distribution and collection of all equipment.
•The head coach will also be responsible for working with the athletic and college staff to support the philosophy, goals and mission of both the College and its’ athletic program.
•Display a commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and ethical conduct as per the NCAA Constitution.
•Works closely with Director of Athletics on long and short-term planning for the women’s lacrosse program
•Hire, supervises and trains the Assistant women’s lacrosse Coach(es) and team manager.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Recreation. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Qualification and Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Current CPR / AED certification
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience at the collegiate level
• Strong knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations and recruiting practices
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Valid driver’s license with proven driving record in good standing
• Availability on weekends and nights are essential
