About the Position and Responsibilities:
In the position as the Assistant Director of Communications you will work with local and national and media to promote the Vanderbilt and Vanderbilt’s nationally renowned baseball team, in addition to other assigned sports, as well as provide content for vucommodores.com.
You will also:
Writes, edits and designs media guide and all related publications for assigned sports
Compiles weekly notes and releases for assigned sports
Responsible for managing social media for assigned sports
Responsible for press box and media game management for assigned sports
Coordinates all media interviews for assigned sports
Coordinates credential process for assigned sports
Handles sport and fan correspondence for assigned sports
Archives season history for assigned sports
Writes and edits game program for assigned sports
Cultivates media coverage for the team through different mediums locally, nationally and internationally for assigned sports Assists marketing and promotions and ticket office staff in its campaigns for assigned sports
Works directly with the Director of Multimedia on digital strategy for assigned sports
Actively participates in planning, development and implementation of short and long-range marketing strategies.
Works closely and collaboratively with Communications, Operations and Ticket Sales teams to develop and implement marketing, promotional, social media and digital advertising plans and campaigns.
Assume responsibility for planning and implementation of efforts to drive ticket revenue, game day attendance and overall brand awareness.
Generates revenue through season ticket sales, single-game and group ticket sales.
Responsible for campus marketing, communications, partnerships, sponsorship and alumni relations; provides strategic direction and executes marketing and communications plans that promote and inspire campus participation.

Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working in media and/or public relations
Strong written and verbal communications skills
General knowledge of Adobe suite, StatCrew and Microsoft suite Extensive social media and website skills
Thorough knowledge of baseball rules
Must be a proactive thinker who is interested in developing and executing new ideas to better improve the efficiency of the overall brand.
Candidates must be able to work a non-standard work week including nights, weekends & holidays. Serves as the primary media contact for assigned sports team(s), including, but not limited to, baseball and other assigned sports. 3-5 years working directly with baseball program Graphic design and video editing skills Benefits:
