The University of Missouri, a Division I Institution and proud member of the SEC, is now accepting applications for a full-time, benefit eligible position of Assistant Director - Athletic Performance for Olympic Sports.
Responsibilities for this position will include the training of student athletes in proper strength, speed, agility and plyometric techniques as well as flexibility and recovery techniques; work with coaching staff to develop individualized programs in speed, strength, movement and conditioning for student-athletes; assist in supervising duties given to graduate assistant and/or interns; develop and maintain open communication with sport coach and/or sport administrator regarding sport program(s); understand and model the Athletic Department goals as set forth by the Athletic Director; research publications, journals, etc., and attend various clinics and conventions to keep up to date on new methods, technologies and areas related to athletic performance; be prepared to fulfill all responsibilities of the Director for Athletic Performance in his/her absence; cooperate and collaborate with sports medicine staff, nutrition staff, academic support services, student-athletes and other department personnel; assist with clean up and maintenance of weight room equipment and related facilities. Preferred:
Master's degree in physical education, exercise science or a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities may be acquired. Experience working with Olympic sport(s) programs at the collegiate and/or professional level.
Required:
Must have and maintain certification through one or all of the following: National Strength & Conditioning Specialists (NSCA) or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist ( CSCS) or Certified Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association ( CSCCA). Additionally, incumbant must have and maintain the following certifications: CPR, AED and First Aid.
