Job Description
This Department Head position is responsible for identifying and enrolling new Members. The Membership Director nurtures relationships with existing Members so that they will invite their friends and colleagues to join (resulting in “Membership by Invitation”). In addition, they attend activities with Members and their guests in order to demonstrate “Pride in Belonging.”
The Membership Director ensures the enrollment process is complete and records Membership profile information. S/he is responsible for achieving the Club’s Membership sales goals.
In addition, s/he generates a definitive sales and marketing plan to achieve departmental revenue goals. The Membership Director is an advocate and ambassador of STAR Service and understanding the critical role that Membership and exceeding expectations play in regards to the success of the operation.
Responsibilities will be:
Overseeing the Membership department, which is responsible for enrolling new Members into the Club at the minimum performance rate of achieving the Club's Membership Sales Plan for both Dues added and ID's, as applicable, while following the Bell Notes. Primary goal is to develop, organize and implement marketing and sales promotions that will create, optimally maximize and/or increase all of the following as directed by the General Manager and under the guidelines of the Membership Policies Manual and Bell Notes. Coordinate the Member Relations Department and other Departments interface with Membership.

3. Change of Designee, prepaid dues and other fees 4. Positive Membership expense variances versus the Club's Financial Plan.
5. Positively impact Member Experiences at the Club 6. Manage Membership Expenses and departmental forecasting 7. Active participation and facilitation of Membership Committee and Board of Governors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Responsible for achievement of Membership Department's sales plan, goals and objectives following all guidelines, policies and procedures. 2. Responsible for generating sufficient prospect inventory to support the Club's sales plan and the maintenance of the prospect database in accordance with standards utilizing the system functionality to stay organized, generate reports, create mail lists, etc.
3. Responsible for timely follow up with new Members for the purpose of acquiring a prospective Member referral in accordance with the established New Member Connect / 12 month retention strategy.
4. Responsible for the preparation of all collateral and documentation for review and approval for all membership programs for the Club in accordance with membership policy and procedure.
5. Responsible for the formation and function of a Membership Committee whose purpose is geared toward the generation of prospects and new members.
6. Responsible for all Member, Board Member and prospective Member communication with regard to membership sales and programming, to be executed in congruence with communications guidelines.
7. Represents the Club in community activities and organizations (i.e., Chamber of Commerce) to provide community awareness of the Club and to develop sources for prospective Club Members.
8. Interfaces with Board of Governors, Club Management and staff and all Club personnel to enhance awareness of the Club's membership needs and objectives; to solicit support for the attainment of these objectives; and to solicit input and feedback which will aid in the enhancement of Member usage and Member satisfaction levels within the Club.
9. Attend all staff meetings and General Employee meetings as established by the General Manager. Work closely with the entire staff at the club to ensure the Members are receiving the best in Member Services.
OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Because of the fluctuating demands of the company's operation, it may be necessary that each Employee Partner perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other Employee Partners are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.
2. Adhere to all of the various written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc., all of which go to make up the essential functions of the job.

8. Take initiative to solve problems, utilizing all available resources including regional and corporate staff.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
1. Reports Directly To: General Manager 2. Also Works For: Regional VP Membership/Sales and other Regional staff 3. Other Positions Reporting To This Supervisor: all club personnel 4. Directly Supervises: Membership Assistant if applicable 5. Indirectly Supervises: Other club staff as needed for Membership functions
Job Requirements
• WORK EXPERIENCE - 1 year event coordination, 2 years promotions or marketing experience, 1 year mgmt and customer service experience. Management experience. At ClubCorp Club, develop/fundraising experience preferred.
• EDUCATION - Undergraduate degree in business, marketing, public relations, communications, hotel and rest. mgt. preferred.

• BUDGET CONTROL/RESPONSIBILITY - Responsible for achieving Sales Plan for club. High fiscal responsibility. Control Membership expense budget.
• SECURITY/CONFIDENTIALITY - Member information
• TRAINING - STAR certified preferred. Required after employment.
• PERFORMANCE STANDARDS Computer knowledge pref. Good communication skills and strong selling skills
