The Assistant Athletic Director for Development (Assistant AD) will plan and execute major gift fundraising initiatives for the Athletics Division, reporting to the Vice President for University Advancement (VPUA). The Assistant AD is responsible for major gift fundraising efforts including identifying, cultivating, and soliciting alumni and other key constituents. This position will assist in coordinating Athletics fundraising campaigns for gifts of $25,000 and above. The position will be expected to travel extensively throughout Texas and nationally. This position is expected to complete an average of 17 personal monthly visits with prospects and donors, carry a portfolio of approximately 150 prospects, and meet a minimum fundraising goal to be established annually by the VPUA and Associate AD, and based on the strength of the assigned portfolio. The Assistant AD will work in partnership with the University Advancement Division on gift strategy, proposal development, prospect/donor visits and related follow-up.
Required Qualifications:
• Demonstrated success in major gifts ($25,000+) fundraising with an emphasis on athletics.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse group of individuals in a collaborative and professional manner, both internal and external to the University.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are of the highest priority.
• Work evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in collegiate or professional athletics fundraising.
• Bachelor’s degree
