The Associate Athletics Director for Marketing Strategies and Fan Development provides management and oversight for all marketing strategies, special events, and the athletics ticket office. Responsibilities include, -Create and implement marketing strategies for all ticketed sports with special attention given to revenue generating varsity sports programs contests, including planning and coordinating major and/or individual special events, where appropriate.
-Creating and managing operational budgets.
-Work closely with JMI Sports, the multi-media rights partner of Columbia Athletics
-Overseeing operations of the Office of Athletics Ticketing.
-Supervising and developing staff.
-Work closely with the Athletics Communication and Video Production Teams to produce and re-purpose content.
-Managing customer service concerns in timely, appropriate manner.
-Managing operational relationships with cross-campus partners, including, but not limited to: University Licensing, University Advancement, Division of Student and Business Services, Department of Student Affairs.
-Providing exceptional customer service.
-Exhibiting the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to NCAA, Ivy League, University, and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education Code of Ethics and rules and regulations. -Enforcing appropriate usage of Columbia University Athletics brand marks and logos.
-Contributing to the maintenance of good working relationships with all members of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education, and other University divisions and departments.
-Assuming other duties as assigned by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical
Education
Bachelor's Degree required: Master's Degree in Athletics Administration, Recreation, Physical Education or related field preferred.
Minimum four years' related experience.
Three years customer service experience in college athletics, professional sports or a related service/hospitality industry. Prior direct customer interaction in a supervisory role preferred.
Ability to work and communicate with students, faculty, administrators, union staff and alumni
Experience in the successful management of athletic events
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, required
Excellent computer skills required (MS Office ? Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Employment contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and a cleared driving history report
