Performs administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and program. Performs varied and complex administrative duties requiring independent judgment and the application of established policies and procedures. May provide supervision and direction to clerical, paraprofessional or professional staff members.
The Director of Digital and Social Media will work as a member of the Texas Tech Athletic Department External Operations unit, and be under the direct supervision of the Associate Athletics Director for Communications and Marketing.
This individual will serve as the athletic department digital and social media expert with direct oversight and daily management of all our social media.
Additional responsibilities include:
• developing and implementing a comprehensive digital and social media strategy with a key focus on elevating fan engagement, growing our social media communities and enhancing the Texas Tech Athletics brand
• overseeing digital and social media content development, advertising placement and analytics reporting with various external partners
• working closely on our email marketing campaigns including the production and optimization of email content, audience segmentation and targeting, copy writing and QA to ensure complete execution and cross-platform deliverability managing our external/social communication calendar across several units
• assisting with fan development and revenue generation initiatives for all sports
• assisting with various other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletics Director for Communications and Marketing
Comply with all NCAA, Big 12 and Texas Tech University rules, regulations and policies.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Four years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of three (3) years of sports marketing experience, preferably at the NCAA division I or professional sports level.
