Associate Director of the Husky Athletic Fund
General Description Purpose
The Associate Director of the Husky Athletic Fund will cultivate, solicit and steward donors capable of making gifts between $1,000 and $25,000. Coordinate and help execute events designed to enhance giving and generate revenue, work with specific sports on solicitation appeals and have a firm understanding of the priority points system and how to leverage it to enhance donations. Responsibilities
Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors with an emphasis on the $1,000-$25,000 giving levels.
Help generate marketing collateral for special events, take the lead on all athletic fundraising events to help procure sponsorships (golf tournaments, dinners, auctions and special events). Work with specific teams and coaches on engagement and solicitation strategies for special projects and needs.
Be an active member of the greater UConn Community and participate at various civic levels to promote UConn Athletics (expected but not limited to: Rotary Clubs, Elks, Lions, Business after Hours groups, Great Hartford Alliance, etc.)
Focus on building philanthropy in conjunction with the Foundation’s Women in Philanthropy initiative. Develop programing for donors and prospects that have a specific interest in supporting this area within the Division of Athletics.
Assist the Director of the Husky Athletic Fund with developing a Division of Athletics staff giving campaign in conjunction with the Foundation’s Close to Home Campaign.
Collaborate with Foundation colleagues to generate new opportunities for athletic donor acquisition.
Other duties as assigned.

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including ability to effectively communicate University priorities to donors and prospects, and to positively represent the University and Foundation
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, to assess and order priorities, and to track details in a fast-paced environment
• High level of motivation and assertiveness, as well as an ability to exercise independent judgment.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3-5 years’ experience in athletic fundraising, educational fundraising or related field.
• Knowledge and understanding of priority point systems and concepts and their application as it relates to seating for donors and ticket holders at athletics events.
• Knowledge and understanding of a Division I athletics and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Proven proficiency in use of computers and information management tools.
• Ability to work to the demands of the position which may exceed a 40 hour work week.
• Must be willing to travel extensively and reliable personal transportation is required for this position.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license issued from state in which employee resides. Employee must maintain at their expense, automobile liability insurance coverage in the minimum amount of $500,000 or a combination of umbrella and automobile liability insurance coverage of $500,000. A certificate of automobile insurance evidencing the limit, must be provided to the Foundation at hire and annually thereafter.
