The Ohio State University Department of Athletics is seeking a n Assistant Director, Athletics Communication. This position manages all sports information and public relations for women’s volleyball, women’s gymnastics and softball and will assist with other sports as assigned; develop and implement strategies to increase awareness of the department’s achievements through the media; creates, designs, researches, writes and edits publications for assigned sports including media guides, game programs and university websites to create positive public message and image for department, other duties as assigned. This position works in a fast-paced creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged.
Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience with desktop publishing software, word processing, and general office software programs; statcrew experience with baseball/softball; ability to work with a diverse population; position requires travel, working weekends, and variable hours. Experience in news writing and media relations, preferably in a sports related position; experience in writing, editing, and designing media guides preferred. Must have successful experience working in a collaborative and team oriented environment and act with integrity and personal accountability.
