UCF Athletics at the University of Central Florida, an NCAA Division I institution and American Athletic Conference (The American) member, is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Director, Coaching Video and Technology.
Under the direction of the Associate A.D. for Multimedia / Creative and Director of Coaching Video and Technology, the selected candidate assists sports programs in the creation, acquisition, and use of video, multimedia, and technology tools in the recruitment, development and coaching of student-athletes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Actively engages in the day-to-day operations of video, multimedia, and coaching technology support for assigned sport(s);
Coordinates camera and acquisition system set-ups / operations to capture and publish multimedia for assigned sport(s);
Plans and produces highlight and instructional videos as required by coaching staffs of assigned sport(s);
Assists in evaluation, acquisition, implementation, and operation of digital media coaching analysis tools and data acquisition and analysis tools within the Video Services Department for assigned sport(s);
Participates in the recruitment, evaluation, and selection of video operations staff (especially undergraduate student video managers);
Contributes and participates in the definition of video operations staff in-service training and oversees or conducts this training to create an adequate working team that accomplishes the day-to-day tasks of the coaching video operations unit;
Assists with the scheduling of coaching video operations staff to ensure coverage for all practices and competitions within the scope of the coaching video operations unit;
Manages troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and/or replacement of hardware assets and software systems;
Participates in the budget proposal process by conducting research, making requests and recommendations, and assisting with defining specifications for new equipment and systems;
Minimum qualifications:
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience. Prefer demonstrated experience with professional and/or broadcast-level tools (cameras, editing systems, etc.), with preference to systems designed and implemented for coaching tasks. Related management and training experience within field also preferred. As a staff member of UCF Athletics, the selected candidate will be a person of integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and institutional rules as they apply to the UCF Athletics program.
