The Director for Sport Management will oversee the work of the League's sport committees, including the implementation of policies and procedures related to the governance of League sports, and serve as the primary liaison to the League's Sport Management Committee. The Director will coordinate the development of schedules for sports where the League governs regular season competition. The individual will provide leadership for the League's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and support activities related to the participation of student-athlete representatives in the League and NCAA governance structures. The Director for Sport Management will work closely with the League's championship program, and have championship management responsibilities. The position reports to the Commissioner and will have other duties as assigned by the Commissioner.
Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred. Applicants must be able to develop and manage strong relationships with coaches and administrators from League institutions and outside constituent groups, possess strong organizational, verbal, written and computer skills, and demonstrate the ability to manage a variety of responsibilities, simultaneously. A minimum of three (3) years experience in sport management or comparable professional experience is required. The posiiton will require travel to League meetings and championship events.
