Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking an Associate Athletic Director for Finance and Administration for The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position assist in the management and supervision of the day to day business operations including athletic financial affairs, budget development, contract administration, player services, scholarship aid administration and personnel.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
• Assists in the supervision of the business office, personnel and player services staffs.
• Develops the annual department budget to include expenditure budgets for various sports and support service areas.
• Aides in the development of the annual revenue budget to include ticket revenue, conference distributions, event related revenue, donor contributions, student fees and university support.
• Assist with human resource functions within the athletic department.
• Serves as the liaison between Athletics and the University’s Office of Human Resources, Labor Relations and General Counsel’s offices. • Works with the Pay-for-Performance process and salary programs for all employees within the Athletic Department.
• Supports departmental contract administration to include game guarantee contracts, vendor contracts, corporate sponsorship agreements, employment contracts and outside events.
• Serves as a liaison to the Purchasing Department and University Counsel for various vendor contracts and RFP’s.
• Assists with development of long term pro-forma – helps to project a ten to fifteen year pro-forma to assist the department in forecasting revenues and expenditures for planning.
• Completes various other duties and task as assigned.
Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
Five years of related professional experience in a financial/accounting function and/or sports management in a leadership or managerial role of increasing responsibility. Skills in planning and organizing, integrating information, making decisions, and attaining results. Excellent communication skills, must be computer literate. Advanced degree or CPA preferred. Knowledge of NCAA rules/regulations and Athletic Department experience preferred.
