Director of Athletics
Penn State New Kensington (PSNK) has an immediate opening for a Director of Athletics who will be responsible for the development, management, coordination and supervision of a competitive intercollegiate athletics program focused on the student-athlete.
The Director of Athletics will develop a comprehensive recruitment and retention program that maintains high academic standards and supports student success for PSNK varsity sport teams.
This role will be charged with expanding the available athletic programs at the campus, with a special focus on the development of additional women's athletic programs.
This position is also responsible for the following: management of the athletics recreational facilities; planning and administration of athletics budget; cooperating with multiple personnel and organizations; working with student success center to provide athletes with meaningful academic support; communicating with and supervising staff, coaches, officials and students; coordinating all athletic events; ensuring the athletics department and its activities are in compliance with PSUAC, USCAA and NCAA Division III bylaws as well as principles of competitive sports; ensuring compliance with and preparing required reports for various programs (such as Title IX); working with marketing to coordinate media coverage and community relations; working with coaches to develop and reach fundraising and recruiting goals; and representing the campus at all conference related meetings.
The Director of Athletics reports to the PSNK Chancellor.
Must be able to demonstrate a keen awareness of attention to details, the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment, excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires meeting certification in CPR, First-Aid, and AED.
Penn State New Kensington is one of more than 20 Penn State campuses located across the Commonwealth. Our 70-acre campus in scenic, rural Westmoreland County is situated only 30 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, and the location offers a wide range of lifestyles from urban to rural. It is a student-centered campus where the coursework for the first two years of more than 160 Penn State baccalaureate majors is offered, as well as 9 baccalaureate degrees and 5 associate degrees.
Students and faculty at Penn State New Kensington have all of the resources of a major research university at their disposal, but in a small college atmosphere.
Class sizes are small and the student/faculty ratio is low, so students can receive much individual attention.

This position requires the operation of a motor vehicle; consequently, a valid driver`s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
