The University of South Dakota is now accepting applications in the Athletic Department for the position of Assistant Sports Information Director, a full-time, 12-month position that reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information.
The successful candidate will serve as the primary media contact for the Coyotes’ men’s basketball team, which won its first regular season Summit League championship this past season. Other sport responsibilities will be assigned by the Assistant AD for Sports Information.
The Assistant Sports Information Director is responsible for promoting and supporting South Dakota’s 17 NCAA Division I programs. Duties include writing press releases, contributing to the athletic department website, GoYotes.com, producing game programs and game notes ahead of events, updating media guides and record books, scoring home basketball events using StatCrew software, working select away events, facilitating social media in line with department goals, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s preferred, and a minimum two years of experience in a college sports information office
Proficiency in a variety of software applications including InDesign, Photoshop and Statcrew
Excellent AP writing skills and communication skills
Experience in working with various social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
Flexibility to work nights and weekends
