The Alamo City Soccer Club (ACSC) Director of Coaching (DOC) supports the club by implementing the vision of the Board of Directors. The DOC reports directly to the Executive Director (ED) and will work an average of 30 - 40 hours per week.
Director of Coaching Responsibilities
1. Soccer Operations
• Develop and implement a comprehensive player development program.
• Develop and implement an internal coach's education program.
• Educate parents on club policies, procedures, and goals.
• Monitor and supervise training ground activities.
• Maintain soccer licenses and continue education.
• Ensure coaches pursue continued education.
• Work closely with department leads and the Executive Director to achieve organizational goals.
• Attend meetings and provide reports as requested.
• Represent the club at functions as requested.
• Plan and conduct annual tryouts (assisting coaches with team formation).
• Ensure coaches adhere to organizational standards.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.
2. Administrative Roles
• Handles complaints from players, parents, coach’s, and other staff members.
• Keep current on the policies of all governing bodies affecting ACYSO.
• Coordinate with league officials when necessary.
• Develop and manage a program budget.
• Respond to inquiries from potential players/families.
• Recruit, hire, oversee, evaluate, and fire (if necessary) coaches for the organization.
• Manage the coaches’ employment issues.
• Learn and operate club/league software programs.
• Follow organizational operating procedures.
• Conduct performance reviews.
3. Ideal Experience and Required Skills:
• Prior experience in a similar position.
• Ability to travel and work flexible hours.
• Business management experience and/or a knowledge of budgeting and accounting.
• Highly organized and able to meet deadlines.
• Proven leadership ability; able to motivate and communicate effectively.
• Minimum of a USSF C license, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, or equivalent preferred.
• National Youth License.
• Excellent public speaking skills.
• Excels in problem solving and conflict resolution.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Alamo City Youth Soccer Organization is located in Northwest San Antonio, Texas and owns and operates a 105 acre fully-lighted and irrigated soccer complex. ACYSO is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit youth soccer organization that provides recreational and competitive programs for boys and girls ages 4 – 18.
