Job Description
The Director of Strategic Security Programs and Policy will be responsible for identifying and developing strategic security programs to protect NFL assets across the League. This position will have primary oversight of all matters related to SAFETY Act Certification and renewal for the League, and will provide technical assistance for individual clubs seeking Certification or Designation. The Director will also be responsible for researching and identifying emerging security technologies that will provide the safest and most secure environment for our fans, employees, and stadiums. This position will also serve as the lead for policy development and contract oversight for the Security Department.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of the NFL SAFETY Act Certification and renewal process to include; researching and updating Best Practice guidelines based on current and emerging threats, development of policy to ensure the highest standards of compliance
• Serve as the League's primary liaison with the Department of Homeland Security, Science and Technology and Office of SAFETY Act compliance
• Policy development to support the daily operations of the Security Department
• Manage NFL's Best Practices for Stadium Security and Fan Conduct Programs, ensuring standards are continuously evaluated, updated, and audited
• Coordinate and manage all contracts for the Security Department
• Responsible for ensuring Best Practice compliance for the International Series Games and major special events managed by the NFL Security Department
Key Attributes / Characteristics:
• Proven track record as a strong communicator in written and oral presentations, capable of rapidly creating detailed written reports
• Possess or ability to obtain security clearance
• Superior communication and presentation skills
• Ability to multi-task and keen attention to detail
• Ability to help set strategic direction and to present to senior management
• Strong project management skills and demonstrated expertise in managing projects with agency wide impact
Supervisory Responsibility:
• Assist Chief Security Officer with management of select NFL programs and projects
Physical Demands:
• Role requires long periods of standing, climbing stairs and walking in multiple weather environments.
Travel:
• Travel to stadiums, special events and international event sites
• Approximately 20-25% travel
Expected Hours of Work:
• This position requires work on weekends and holidays
