SUMMARY: The Director of Soccer is a non-teaching position beginning July 1, 2017 that is responsible for the leadership and supervision of all aspects of the North Hills Christian School soccer program. The candidate will directly coach and oversee both high school teams (boys and girls) while managing a middle school program and developing an elementary soccer program. The candidate will also work directly with the athletic director in areas of game operations, marketing and select community events. These responsibilities will be performed in an ethical manner consistent with North Hills Christian’s mission, vision and values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
(1.) Formulate the teams' competitive schedule.
(2.) Organize and train athletes for successful and safe competition.
(3.) Keep abreast of current trends and methods by participating in clinics, workshops, etc. that contribute to professional development and self-improvement.
(4.) Provide leadership to the team including budgeting, scheduling, and organizing travel arrangements.
(5.) Hire, train, develop and evaluate the performance of assistant and lower level coaches.
(6.) Ensure coaching staff and athletes are compliant with all conference (SPAA) and state (NCISAA) rules, as well as North Hills’ Code of Conduct.
(7.) Report any known violations or concerns to administration.
(8.) Monitor the academic performance, academic progress and social development of student-athletes and make referrals to the appropriate resources.
(9.) Assist in maintenance and upkeep of the field/complex.
(10.) Collaborate with the Athletics Director, Admissions and Marketing offices as it relates to fundraising for ongoing program costs and the development of a soccer stadium at North Hills.
(11.) Assist the Athletic Director in ensuring all athletic paperwork is completed for player eligibility.
(12.) Oversee at least two athletic fundraising efforts that will support the entire department
(13.) Assist Athletic Department in athletic issues as needed.
(14.) Demonstrate and promote the values and goals of North Hills Christian.
(15.) Perform other duties as assigned.
Needs to have effective verbal and written communication skills; Bachelor’s Degree required; Head coach experience at the high school level or higher; good organizational skills; and be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must have an understanding of league and school rules and regulations. Will be required to work evenings, weekends and some holidays. CPR certification is required. Candidate will be asked to obtain a CDL license.
